Building Your Home Through Prayer - by Rachelle Dawson
Devotions Proverbs 14:1 says, "The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down" (NIV). Several years ago, this verse caught my attention and niggled at my mind. But I had no idea how challenging it would become.

Every Woman's Desire - by Naomi Cassata
Devotions When I was a senior in high school, I was a part of a program that allowed me to help one of the elementary teachers once a week. I walked into a class of excited first graders. As the weeks went by, I realized that choosing who we will and won't associate with starts earlier than we think. Even six-year-olds have formed their own cliché.

A Child's Love: The Father's Heart - by Tina Nahid
Devotions Stumbling into the kitchen, my husband and I were greeted by two sets of eyes as big as saucers staring up into ours and then immediately scanning down to the bundle of brown skin and black curls hanging from my chest. My, how we had missed our boys on this long journey to Africa! Bringing home our little girl from across the world was no small feat, as it took a toll on us both mentally and physically. But oh, how well worth it she was!

Empty Arms - by Kelly Goswick
Devotions Two perfectly formed little bodies, two teeny noses, four tiny hands with five fingers each - identical in every way - lay lifeless like dolls. Everything and everyone else in that room was a blur to me, all my attention was focused on how beautiful my baby boys were and how much they looked like their daddy. I knew the room was filled with family; I could sense their silent tears. I reached out and softly touched the fingers of the twin closest to me. It was like a dream; it happened so fast. One day I was anticipating the arrival of our babies and the next I was mourning their deaths. My mind wandered back six months, when I first found out I was having twins.

Comfort Others - II Corinthians 1:3,4 - by Jacqueline Hannah
Devotions You could have heard a pin drop.

Everyone in the room stopped talking. Our focus centered on a woman in the middle of a small group who had just given her name. And, like the rules of the evening stated, had provided a snippet about herself – she used to be a pastor’s wife.

A Rare Exchange - by Steve L. Conley
Devotions It was so rare; I could not remember ever seeing anything like it. I was standing close to the register when I heard the lady say. "These are the wrong size; I would like to see if you have another size in the same shoe." I looked up to see a lady standing next to her daughter; the daughter appeared to be in her early twenties.

Hindrances to Prayer - Distractions - by Petey Prater
Prayer The phone rings incessantly. The kids are vomiting. I'm angry with my husband. A friend has a flat tire and is delayed arriving for my meeting.

My week ran smoothly until this morning. But today, prayer meeting morning, chaos reigns and prayer is derailed by distractions.

What distractions keep you from prayer?

A Higher Call: Accountability in Your Walk - by April O'Brien
Devotions A mom's world sometimes seems larger than life, somehow distorted by the daily spills and potty training sessions, and we feel distant from our Christian community. I recall many days as a new mom feeling lonely, being more accustomed to spending long periods of time outside the home with other adults. I often wondered if I was an unusual case-perhaps those women who were "born mothers" never pondered such dilemmas. This is when we most need to reach out for another mom's wisdom and encouragement, not retreat back into our world at home.

Our True Provider
Faith It's pretty heavy the amount of pressure that comes when you think you're the one that is providing for your family. Look at our husbands (Christian husbands even), if you ask them how they feel about the family finances, most would sigh and say, "it can be stressful when you're trying to provide for your family."

Jesus, let me take care of this one...
Devotions We say, "Jesus, you are Lord of my life", then in the same breath we fret about the loss of our job and where we'll work next.
